Interesting..... I'm about to do a setup with an HF mani and having never used an IWG before, im a bit weary about it.

How pheasable would this idea be, and would anybody have an estimate on what a machine shop would charge? (just curious)

1. Level the top of the manifold, where the o2 sensor hole is (create a good seal with the WG flange)
2. Bore out the hole to match up with the WG hole
3. Drill/tap holes for WG mounting.

Sounds like that'd work and be rock-solid.

I thought about doing this at one time... but when you add up the cost of the manifold + machine work for the external wastegate + an adapter plate... it's more expensive than it seems...

I ended up getting a used Drag III manifold for just over $100, cheaper than a modified HF...

True true.

Speaking of Drag. Man, I had an H23 Drag II manifold on my 2nd gen prelude. It was the most fucked up manifold design ever. Weighed like 50lbs, looked like an elephant and the WG was like an inch off the ground. I hated that thing. Wish i had pics of it.

The setup in that HT link used to be my old turbo kit! lol. Once I get my HF mani I'm thinking about going that setup since I want to eliminate the o2 housing on my t3 with the flapper arm and make a cleaner looking setup. I'd take it to the Philtech machine shop(aka my garage!) Super high tech state of the art machinery. Angle grinder, 14" chopsaw and my MIG! Welding to cast is a no no. Pish posh! I've done it on every kit I'm made and never had a problem with anything not holding and falling off. I give it the BFH(big ------- hammer) test afterward to see how it holds.

I have been meaning to ask this dumb question, but what is HF stand for? Is it a manifold for a turbo D like off some old car or something? I'm gay I know sorry.
