spun a rod in my 91si whant to put new engine in and stay with a D16. probley go to v-tech witch engine woukd be the simplest swap and what bolt ons would i have to change? would a d16y7 slip right in? ECU

 

d16y7 will go right in, use the d16a6 intake manifold and all the injectors. and it will be just fine, you can use your stock ecu.

The other options are d16z6 sohc vtec, and the d16y8 also a different verison of the sohc vtec.

But that will require some ecu mods.

y7 is not vtec i believe the y8 is.

Just get the y7 if its dirt cheap, its basically the same engine you have in their now, just a different level of OBD, with a few more sensors.

Y8's vary.... People want a bit more for those since they are newer.. maybe like 4-500 bucks, probably get a d16z6 for a bit cheapter 2-300

not really, lots of people doing b-series swap's in EG's, and people sell them dirt cheap, sometimes even cheaper.
