vortec supercharger or jaCKSON RACING FOR A 95 gsr?@!$@!#%#@56
im postin this ---- for a friend and i dont feel like searchin, so i'd rather someoen with soem experience tell me what they went with and why.
From what Ive seen, Vortech seems to perform better. I saw a 6th gen. vortech SC Civic EX beat the ---- out of a Jackson SC Civic DX Hatch (The Modern Image/Wings West sponserd Civic from Import Tuner). That DX had internal engine work and the EX was just running stock internals w/ the SC and I think Apexi exhaust, maybe Greddy. I have this ------- race on tape but I cant figure out how to get in on da comp.
Keep in mind, the results are for a Civic and not a Teg. From what Ive read Vortech is a beter made SC w/ alot less parasitic drag vs. the Jackson. A SC is more reliable then a turbo but god damn if a turbo isnt easier to tune, customize, and a *** load cheaper. Personally, SC would never be an option for me but thats just my 2 cents.

Guys, I realize this is homemadeturbo and all, but please don't start turning this into HT.. (we are HMT, you will be assimilated..) I like this board because people here think outside of the box, don't start shoving everything back in now. Superchargers are a perfectly viable form of FORCED INDUCTION and while we all believe that Turbo's are the best bang for the buck, the simple fact is that superchargers do offer some benefits that are difficult to achieve with a turbo, namely, low end torque. I don't think it's worth the difference in price, but If I could get a vortech sc for the same price as SOME turbo setups, I'd definately do it.
