i am going to be a using a K03S from an 02 Passat in my setup. My questions is this, the K03S wastegate is fully opened at 8.xx psi, is this controlled by the ECM or is this the actual wastegate pressure?




any help is greatly appreciated

@ less than 2000rpms.... you need a bigger turbo...

 

well until i get familiar w/ tuning and such i'm not going for huge numbers maybe 175HP, its going on a stock d16a6 which starts falling off up top anyways, it'll be a great city car, i am eventually going T3, but i got the K03s for free so im going to use it.
the 1.8t does need a bigger turbo but some guys pull decent numbers off of the stock turbo, i dont see why it wouldn't do OK on a 1.6sohc


is it the wastegate itself or ecu that keeps it at 8psi?

 

better yet... is there a way to test the wastegate to figure out what PSI it opens fully at, besides on the car?
