anyone know the dino proven hp on a aem cam gear for a 94 honda civic ex? and any ideas on what to advance it too?

 

if its turbo advance it as far as it will go, if its all motor retard it as far as it will go...you should get about 200 more hp to wheels either way..

 

The only thing a cam gear will do on a SOHC motor is change where your powerband is.

You can make it so there is more low end power (and less top end) and vice versa.

dude all you can do is retard it or advance it like 5 degrees...if its all motor advance it to like 3 deg and call it good...not rocket science here

OK then, let me walk you through it:

1) Sell your cam gear.

2) Sell your car.

3) Buy a big wheel, with a hand brake.

4) Give it away to a 5 year old who can operate it.


....seriously, there is nothing to "tuning" a cam gear ona SOHC. Just like Chris said, all it does it move your powerband.

Why not just stick the stock cam gear back on there, and leave it the way Honda intended... slow.
