Default Turbo sitting, oil on turbine side..

I just bought a rebuilt turbo that was used slightly, a 300z t3 60 trim, it has the slightest shaft play, what would be normal, but after i cleaned it up i put a bit of oil in the center section just for storage and its sitting on its side barely tilting towards hot side.. there is definitely oil from the center section leaking out..

I'm guessing this means I need new seals? anyone every experienced this? I guess I will know when i put it on the car ha..

carry extra oil with you, cause you're gonna burn shitloads of it, if you install it.
I think a rebuild is definately in order.

I know the feeling! Finally got my TT 5.0 all hooked up and one turbo leaked on both compressor and turbine sides, the other leaked on compressor side. My nice intercooler filled with oil etc. etc. I think from now on with used turbos, I would just rebuild it first and save the hassle and clean up. Turbocity balances the wheels for 35 bucks and a rebuild kit for my IHIs is 128 bucks. Your T3 may be similar.
