Apexi S-AFC question...
hey, i've got a 1989 ford probe gt... I heard somewhere that you can't use a S-afc on the 1g probes and MX-6's... is this true... ? I need something to control my injectors before I get my supra (440 cc) injectors so I dont lean out/run to rich... any ideas if an s-afc wont work?
yes it will, but be careful,... the tuner does way more then people think,.. you could tinker with it a lil, just get it done by sombody who knows there ----, alls its practically doing it telling your ECU that yourt getting more air then you are, so it'll pump in more fuel to richen it out, you make your throttle %'s to much, where its not needed, youll ---- your engine
it will work until the VAF is maxed then it will go into presets and the SAFC will then be useless. It is just better to go to probetalk.com and try and buy a chipped ECU that sometimes guys are selling.

I have the zombie chip, and my car is run on MAF not VAF
no its run on a VAF, the only ones that had a MAF were the 93-97 2.0's. The 1st and 2nd gen GT's both used VAF's they were just different. Trust me its a VAF and the safc wont work at 100% throttle.
yea im absolutly sure its a VAF, my buddy has a 90 pgt and he tried to use an safc and it didnt work at 100% throttle and he went on probetalk.com and asked and they said it was because it was a VAF setup. Your best bet would be to do a custom chip or build a megasquirt
