Default Turbo Size

Ok, looking to see if i will be ok with what I have here. I have 2 turbos...1 is a t3 with .42 a/r intake and a .48 exhaust...2 is a T3/T4 with a .70 intake and a .48 exhaust. The T3/T4 has a bent compressor wheel so I was just going to slap the .70 intake onto my T3 and make it a hybrid. This is for a D16a6, will the .70 be to big and what would you suggest for the compressors trim??

Since the T3/T4 is in need of a rebuild I was going to attempt this on my own...can someone explain how they balance the wheels...I see how they shave the back side of the wheel but how do they determine its blanced...would I need a special machine...ok thanks for any help...Matt

You can't just slap the t4 housing on the T3 and expect it to be a hybrid since the t3 will still use the .42 wheel. To balance the turbo after the rebuild I would leave it up to a shop to do.

I know you can't just slap the new housing on, i also asked what you guys would suggest for a compressor wheel trim. I've done some homework but this is where I need some help. I've read some stuff about if the exhaust side is to big then you won't be able to spool quick enough what happens if the intake is to big? Would that create lag? Just direct me to a link if thats the best answer i can get.

Questions:

1. Is a .70 T4 intake to big to run on a D16a6 if the exhaust is .48

2. If not to big what compressor wheel would be best to use with this set up.

3. Does anyone know what the balancing process entails or a link that walks through it.

If not one can help then just let my post drop I don't care...Just looking for some help from the turbo Gods...Matt

Thanks, I thought the .48 exhuast would be good for the d series to spool but a .70 is to big for the compressor side. Is a .60 a t3 housing? I'm just tring to figure out what I should be looking for, I'll probably just get a housing if I can. What would be the best compressor whee for this set up...Matt
