I was wondering about watercooled turbos,I have a td04h that came with my greddy kit can i make this a watercooled turbo?or do I need a new one?if so what turbo can I use? please let me know if anyone knows about this....thanks

 

water cooled will help but it depends where you live at. if it's in a hot place then forget it.

 

I live in seattle,wa.I have a greddy turbo kit with a 2g smic I was hoping that water would benifit me.

 

the water just helps cool the turbo, but isn't really neccessary, if it was that much difference, all turbo's would come water and oil cooled. i personally don't like to hook them up, it's more hoses and more chance of something leaking.

 

you gotta split 1 of your radiator hoses or put a hole in your radiator for that ---- to work

 

maybe on a volvo, but not on honda.....

Not to step on your toes...but all factory turbo cars since 1982 have water cooled turbos in them...Volvo really learned this one the hard way. It seems like alot of aftermarket turbos are set up better to only need oil. I say, if the turbo allows for it, why not do it. But, to each his own...

 

Well, because chances are the car you're putting the turbo on wasn't designed with a proper cooling system to accommodate for a turbo. I'd rather have a hot turbo than a hot motor.

so if you have a water-cooled turbo(which I do), you don't need to hook up any water lines? Do you just leave the holes open or what?
