Default Jetta TDI 2000

My mom own a vw jetta tdi 2000 five-speed. This car is rated at 90hp@3750rpm and 150torque@1900rpm

Well, my mom think of selling the car to me for real cheap... like 2500$us

i want to know if anyone worked with this engine... The turbo is electronically-controled (wastegate) and simply by puting a chip i heard people getting to 115hp 183torque with a Wetterauer chip and 116hp 195torque with an upsolute chip that a nice improvement but im septic...

If you have any info on this give me some hint...

im not sure if this means you are thinking about buying it but if your mother decides to sell it for that price let me know cause there is a 90% chance that my dad would buy it from here.

for that money, you might as well buy it, even for a daily driver.

I know VW's are a pain in the ***. EVERYTHING is controlled through the ECU.

I would not be surised. I think it is the 1.8 T that can put out rediculous numbers with just a chip and a few bolt ons.

Yeah I heard the same thing about chipping those ******* can bump it up quite abit since the ecu controls everything on those damn vw's. THat ---- is too expensive for parts though.

i used to work at a vw shop..and 115hp sounds about right, from what i've heard.. not sure about the torq tho. there's not much to get out of the old traditional tdi engines, compared to the newer high pressure tdi engines.. the newer 2.0 tdi engines you get like 170hp and close to 500nm according to the chip manufacturers
