Hey Goldberg. I had the same problem, but it was only hitting the "rivet" in the block and squeeeezed right past it. If I were you, I wouldn't use an external, but just move the one you got. It's not complicated, but I'm sorry to hear about that.
To move the turbo out of the way, loosen the bolts on the compressor housing and the exhaust housing and you should be able to rotate the outer parts of the turbo to clear the block. I had to do quite a bit of rotating to get mine to fit and the compressor outlet still turned out facing a stupid direction. Just make sure the oil return is still somewhat facing down.

Huh

If you moved the turbine, you should have mived the wastegate with it. You have to move both sides of the turbo to get it to line up right with the wastegate arm.

Is it hitting the actual block? What car do you have? I have a 92 civic and I used a saab 900 turbo t3 style, and I had to cut a chunk out of my AC braket for it to clear and bolt up. I was shitting when it was not fitting.
But I cut the chunk out and it was fine. Dont know if this is the same problem.
I got a 99 D16Y8 in my car BTW

I don't know what to tell you man. Maybe a custom bracket or something, or just take a grinder and go to town!!
