Default Motor break in results are in

Was up at beerbongs place today, thought I'd throw his comp tester on and see how things sealed up.

Cylinder 1 - 210psi
Cylinder 2 - 210psi
Cylinder 3 - 210psi
Cylinder 4 - 210psi

I'd say my break in methods worked pretty damned good. To those of you that don't know. This is a rebuilt d16z6 bottom end, machined crank and connecting rod ends, ACL bearings, new rings, fresh cylinder hone.

Test was done with 593 miles on the block.

The only thing I am wondering now, is that I still get a small puff of blue smoke when I get on the throttle, so i am guessing its valve seals, high mileage z6 head was simply re-used.

Also its running lean as ----, plugs where white as hell, but I'm not too worried about it, I am running the stock p28 and completely stock fuel system. No boost so it shouldnt hurt.

Otherwise, not too shabby eh?

What method of break-in did you use?

Good luck with this motor. I hope it works out better than the last 35 of them.

35...haha

Well my break in kinda went like this.

Took it slow and easy to the freeway, which was about 4 miles. Got on the freeway and pulled in 3rd to about 3000rpm and let the compression of the engine take me back down, but not so low i had to downshift. I repeated that increasing 1000rpm each time. Once I got to 7000rpm I started over in 4th gear. I did the same thing, only didn't make it to 7000rpm in 4th, I'm guessing only about 5500rpm or so.

Overall I think I covered 15-20 miles like this, then I just drove it pretty mellow, never revved over 5500 or so the entire time, and at 593 miles tested it out and got some nice results.
