Default SVT focus turbo... in WA

hey.

this question is directed at jeff mostly... but do you guys know how hard it would be to make a turbo manifold for a focus? I am thinking that I could fab up the rest of the kit, but the manifold welding is a little iffy to me...

any chance you would make one for a price? also what price? i haven't decided on what turbo hu to use, but i think a G T3 would serve well...

thanks

yea a gt3 would do good in that engine. as far as a manifold, you could fab up a manifold for a focus. just mount the flange on the head and have someone from the bottom hold the turbo w/turbo flange taped onto the turbo and position the turbo where it would have maximun clearance for the down pipe etc. then weld two thin 1/4 rod or bar (one on each side of the turbo flange)from the header flange while it's mounted on the head to the turbo flange while the turbo is being held by someone from below the car. this way when you remove both flanges, the turbo flange and the header flange will be in the correct position to allow for clearance in the engine compartment.
so the header flange and turbo flange will be held together
by both the thin steel rods in the proper place so you can
fabricate the manifold.

The stock exhaust mani. on the focus is allmost the same as an hf/hx mani(as far as it being turbo friendly).A buddy of mine back in cali had one.It seemed like it would be easy to weld a flange on there.Space is kind of tight but Im shure you could fit a small turbo in there since it doesnt have a crazy redline.

This is what an aftermarket header looks like for the focus. All you need is an adapter plate

you cold position a pipe extension to the bottom of the manifold to where the turbo has clearance. weld the pipe to the manifold and a turbo flange to the end of the pipe=turbo manifold. you'll need to brace the manifold incase the weight of the turbo will be too much.

I've seen stock mani's on the Focus's and it looks like you can just make an adapter plate or modify the stock manifold to work like a turbo manifold, just like how we use HF/STD/CX manis on hondas. As far as engine management, I have no idea.

No need for a adapter plate.
Here's a IHI installed on a Zetec Focus manifold.

Your welcome.
