Default turbo is on but how do i know if lean?

i finnally got the turbo on its been about 8 months and the whole time is wasent boosting be the waster gate arm was screwed out so the amr was longer, anyways it seems to be running good at about 5 PSI but im afraid of it leaning out, i dont hear any pinging at all but is it a noise that is very noticable or not? and how much boost can my 99civic SI B16A2 handle with just an FMU?

pinging sounds WEIRD and you can normally hear it clearly. I can't think of anything to compare the sound to besides rocks inside a can filled with water being shacked! It's not real loud though.

Ya thats a pretty good description of what "pinging" sounds like, its pretty faint. like a tin can with a be-be in it getting shaked..

If you are worried its pinging, a good way to check is get on the freeway, go and 30mph put it in 4th gear (low rpm) and just floor it all the way to 7500 or whatever you shift at.

Listen the whole way to redline for pinging, It will usually happen when theirs a heavy load on the engine.

yeah i dont hear anything i think its the same sound that i used to hear when i used to put lower octance gas in my 92 eclipse GS, it wasent too loud but i could hear it pretty clear, i dont hear anything like that ar all even when i rev it up to 8000 rpm, but im not for sure so i just ordering a air/fuel gauge, i was also wondering something else, i have no way of knowing my power gains, have anyone had a setup like this one that would know isa the DOHC B16A2 i beleive with a saab T3 turbo 5PSI with standard exhaust accept to free flow muffler? any idea would be appreciated

you have no way of knowing power gains?

well obviously cant you feel it faster than before? if you want actual numbers you need to hit the dyno dude! every setup is different.

What do you think? It's not the end of the world if you loose, and if you do loose, just rematch him later when your ready..

If its a GST you have a pretty good chance. They are in the same boat as us FWD!, none of that bullshit GSX AWD launching at 7 grand

How much it can hold is based upon your fuel management and how well its tuned, with the fuel setup you got right now (FMU) I wouldnt be boosting anything higher. AFC type hack with some larger injectors you could boost a bit more, and with a standalone type system, even more!
