Default SMT 6

Have any of you tried using the Perfect Power "smt 6" piggyback fuel and spark management setup with a boosted Z6? I have used it to set up a friend's n/a supra that he converted to turbo.

It looks like it will work with the 4 cyl engines, but I'd like conformation that it's a viable option.

comments?

there was an attempt at a group buy for them on here last year and i was going to buy a couple and try them out on some vw's, but the buy never went through. i researched them and messed with teh software a little. it looked like a pretty neat device for vehicles that don't have as many options for management as a honda.

one of the things that seems like a PITA is the initial setup of the program. The system is from Austraillia and the must use ocilliscopes there a lot still. Many of the parameters depend on the values found by hooking up a scope to your car. I was going to do this but after calling over 10 shops (I run a parts store) everyone laughed when I asked if they had a scope. From what I gather, they are not widly used here.

I can have the SMT6/laptop interface for cheap from the supra owner (he's got a spare) but last I checked, Perfect power dd not have base map or wiring diagram for CRX's.

Im still thinking of trying though, because the program is so tunable.
