The flywheels are different in OBD2 engines compared to earlier civics right?
I can't seem to get this damn clutch I got from Clutch City to install on my D16Y7 flywheel... the guy on the phone said it would fit any 92-00 civic non-DOHC.

I was pretty sure there was a difference in the clutches? I've already called and verified I got the right pressure plate (at least to waht they show).

Any knowledge about the flywheel sizes would be helpful as well.

 

accually its 90-00. i have been told the same. that all D-series flywheels/clutchs are the same size and same number of input shaft splines...

 

Flywheels will work 90-00

but clutch discs are 92-00 the same..

 

BUT the preassure plate does not line up on the flywheel.

 

I gurantee they sent me a ------- B-series clutch pressure plate - and they refuse to admit it on the phone.

 

A b-series should be slightly larger, and I'm trying to think if the PP has more mounting bolts than D-series? its either 6 or 8..

 

Not too sure about the USDM's but the EDM honda civics came with 2 sizes of clutch. A 200mm one and a 210mm one. The 210mm's pressure plate is just a fraction too big to fit on the 200mm's flywheel. I had a 200mm clutch but i wanted the 210mm one as i was going to boost my A9 so had to get new flywheel. The B series uses 8 mounting points as to the D wich uses 6.

hmmm, didn't fit a b16a4 flywheel...
Doesn't fit my flywheel, will probably fit a d16z6 flywheel.

Does anyone know if they made a different flywheel for just the Honda Del Sol in 1997 (S model/D16Y7). I bought the clutch/pressure plate for a 97 civic dx w/ sohc non-vtec. I figured it was the same, but it doesn't seem like it anymore.

Or if anyone knows the dimensions of the flywheel for this year they will give me a new pressure plate to fit.

 

The B-series Flywheels have 8 bolts, for the flywheel
the d-series flywheels have 6 bolts, and they both have 6 mounting bolts for the pressure plate.

 

Bump - Does anyone know if the D16Y7 in a 97 del sol had a flywheel of different diameter or dowl distance as opposed to the civic dx flywheel?
