i am currently using the 92-93 ys1 ls tranny but i bought a 90-91 S1 ls tranny and was wondering if this tranny is better for the 1/4 mile? I read that the S1 tranny has closer gears.anyone had similar experiences with these.likes/dislikes?

 

Which version of the YS1 do you have? the GSR (b17) YS1 has pretty decent gear ratios. But the 92-93 LS came with the YS1 as well, and has the exact same gear ratios as the USDM 90-91 S1 and A1. Maybe you were thinking of the JDM S1 tranny? thats a pretty decent tranny, all the jdm trannys have better gear ratios than usdm ones. It has the 4.4 FD. How to tell if one is JDM vs USDM, heh, only way I know is split them apart. Honda didnt do a very good job badging these *******.
