b16 distributor problems...cylinder positon sensor
I just got done fixing a problem like this on my friends del sol VTEC. it was throwing code 9 any time the car would idle down, and then the idle would drop even more and the car would sputter.
We took the distributor apart and there was a small piece of wire stuck on the cyilnder sensor's magnet, grounding it to the distributor case. We simply cleaned it all up, removed that piece of wire, and the car started up with no code.

well i took off the distributor, openned it up and to my surprise i found the screw that holds the rotor came off and had jammed into the cylinder position sensor magnet and the metal ovaled sender that's mounted around the distributor shaft. does the ovaled metal ring that goes with the cylinder position sensor come off?
