got a freind with a 00 prelude, h22, vtec model. its an auto matic and he told me that after he installed the kit, it doesnt want to rev very high at all and makes shitty power, but it revs just fine in neutral. i told him to disconnect his battery terminal for about 20mins to let the ecu reset, but other than that, i dont know too much about h22's or autos for that matter. what should he do?

 

any type of fuel management?

 

he said he is using a vafc. and running 6 psi
anything else i should ask him?

 

has he had it tuned at all? what are his settings on the vafc?

 

he said there going to tune it tomorrow. hes not sure what the setting are, but he is positive that the vtec engage wasnt tampered with. i told him to try and disconnec the battery terminal and wait a while. i figured maybe the ecu went into gimp mode. he said that he threw a CEL but it went away after a lil bit. he also mentiones they ran the car for a short while with out the sensor thats mounted to the intake

 

sounds like his map sensor is seeing boost and the ecu is going into limp mode
