i have a 91 crx si with a b16 swap i took out the swap to put low compression piston and rods. now i have a 96 swap at home. what would be better to turbo a jdm b16 or a usdm b18c1. everybody is saying b16 any comments

 

well on paper the JDM b16 makes 170 horses and the USDM b18c1 makes 170 horses,BUT the 1.8 liter B18C1 has a much more broad power curve. i have a 99 Si with a B16A and i have a friend with a 98' GSR and our performance is so close its just a drivers race. we are both running 15.4-15.6 with small bolt ons.BUT ur car is much lighter. I would say go with a B18C1 but you have a cable clutch so u should go with a JDM b16a1.

 

what's wrong with GSR motor with B16a cable Tranny in the CRX?

 

nothing is wrong with that at all, but check which b16a cable tranny you have....some are better than others...

 

And your OBD II GSR ECU wont be much fun to deal with in a rex

 

get the JDM B16a LSD cable tranny.

Some GSR is not OBD II 94-95 is OBD I

Get the 93 Integra GSR. Extremely rare i heard. B17 I believe? Correct me if im wrong.

well the ba16 is 160hp i could do b18c with s1 tranny cableand my stock chip out pr3 ecu all i got to do is keep the two o2 sensors. but i don't know if i want to do that it sound like toooo much work
