is there a seal where the pass. side axle goes in to the tranny? after process of elimination and a lot of head scratching i found out that a)my hg is not blown b)my rings and ringlands are fine c)my turbo is fine d)my tranny is leaking oil what looks to be around teh pass. side axle and kicking it up on to my firewall and it's dripping on to my dp. this would explain why my oil level never went down :P

is it on the tranny or the axle? how can i replace it, i'm pretty sure that's my problem.

i'm checking ht right now, go figure there's about 300 threads on it, now i went and made myself look like a newb by not searching first

 

if it is leaking from seam of where the tranny meets the block, it could be either the main seal, or the oil gallery plug. both are a bitch to work on. the gallery plug may cost about $5 to fix, but the main seal would cost more to replace. both would require you to remove the tranny, clutch & flywheel. i'll post more info if you need it.

 

na, it's coming out of the pass side axle, but yeah, that would suck if it was the main tranny seal, seeing as how i just pulled the tranny two weeks ago, i would prolly shoot something if i had to do it again :P this is prolly when the axle seal got fucked up, i had a hard time getting the pass. axle out.

 

and don't forget to drain the tranny b4 u pull the axle
