Default BOV nessasary?

i was wondering if anyone out there is running a setup without a BOV. Im gonna run low boost and i want to know if i really need one or spend money on other ----. Its suppose to let out the charge when the TB closes so it doesnt go back into the turbo, is this an issue with low boost?

-thanks

Less boost = less risk, if you want your setup to last very long, it's worth using one...it really is the RIGHT way to do it.

Not just that it will kill your spool time. Read the FAQ section on WHY and WHAT it does. You need it...I don't care what boost you are gonna run.

Yes you need one. The $$ shouldn't discorage you. You can get one for $20.

My blow off valve has broken off twice (damn jb weld :P) Actually if you want to run say 6psi, then you can set your wastegate at 10 and just drill a hole in you charge pipe. It still boosts pretty good, and it even sounds like you've got a bov. Just make sure to have some kind of filter on the hole. But for $10, just get a real bov.

it wouldn't be so bad if the car was an automatic, but its kinda dumb not to spend $10 on one...

Buick Grand-nationals didn't have BOVs, but they were automatic...
