Default MSD 6-BTM confusion

I just got one of these, and now i'm a little confused. I know how these things can plug-in directly into my dizzy, but i've heard of another way. I heard something about bypassing the stock coil and running a new coil, like their blaster coil, and getting a new cap w/ an external coil tower. So, what's the advantage/reason for this? Or should I just stick to the basic install. And, also, what's a reasonable rpm limit on a z6 without any problems?? I got that motor, BOOSTED, in a 89 REX w/ the pm6 ecu, and i don't even know what the cutoff is exactly other than about 7000 to like 7200...?? It seems like it varies. Thanks

not exactly

that is what you should do. very easy and not that expensive.
So, what's the advantage/reason for this? Or should I just stick to the basic install.
to take advantage of the msd ignition, the external coil is recommended to the small stock one.
you will have to take the cap off and disconnect the stock coil lines and run them to the btm anyways, so it's easy enough at that point to add the external coil and cap.
i don't even know what the cutoff is exactly other than about 7000 to like 7200...??
i believe it's 7200 on my car.
