i have a problem i put a z6 head on a y7 and when i turn the cam gear to do the timing it turns but it is kinda difficult, my friend says that the piston is hitting the valves, i thought this setup was ok. need help
is the timing belt on or are you just spinning the cam on its own? as long as the timing isnt off like a million degrees, there wont be a problem. there is supposed to be resistance when you spin a motor as long as it has compression
oh when you said you were trying to do the timing by turning the cam...
if it is hitting the piston, then turn the crank as well
you have to turn BOTH of them get it align, not just the cam
