my shitty air fuel gauge reads lean or not at all, in low rpm it runs fine but when you step on the gas to speed up it sputters and ----, but there is no check engine light at all or nothing? just noticed the air/fuel gauge barley reads now? wtf? its a built z6 motor but there is no turbo on it yet?

 

Pretty much those shity non wideband Air/Fuel gauges are crap. That might be the problem

sounds like your o2 is bad to me. afterall, that is what you have that guage wired into, if it isn't getting a signal, odds are your ecu isn't either, and if your ecu isn't getting an o2 reading it will run like ----. check the wiring where you connected it. if you didn't solder it proper it may have come undone and disconnected everything... bingo, problem solved. i'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

 

Welcome to my hell. My car runs like complete ***, yet the ECU says everything is peachy. Throw me a ------- bone. I feel like doing a OBD0-OBD2 conversion so I can get like 47 codes and check them all out, one at a time.

check ground first.

mine did the same thing and it ends up the o2 is bad.

 

all the other times with my old a6 motor when the o2 went bad it still ran fine just had a check engine light on?

 

OK im kinda talkin out my *** not 100% sure but when you floor it the cpu goes either closed loop or open loop i forget witch one. but it determines you fuel dilevery from your map sensor and the oxygen sensor. if its shorted out or the o2 sensor has gone bad it will mess the your A/F ratio... ok guys tell me what i said wrong =) cha ching 0.02, dave

 

At WOT your ECU doesn't use the o2 sensor.
