Default God damnit to hell; motor number 2.0 is fried

ugh learning curves suck!!!!

motor 1.0 (d16a6 original to car) died because of blown ringlands (had them all along just did not notice because they were blown when i bought the car).
Motor 1.5 (rebuilt motor above) died because i did not check bearing clearances when i put new pistons/rods/rings in my a6 and now...
Motor 2.0 (d16z6 block; a6 head; was supposed to be a full on z6 but the longblock i bought had bent valves) is dead because of improperly gapped rings.
This motor was a successful failure though. It ran strong for a while then developed some nasty blowby and i was hoping i could coax it along until i built my budget "built" d16z6 here in the next 2 weeks but i guess not. I thought the blowby was from prematurely worn rings (flooding trying to get the motor to crank when i put it in; stupid wiring gremlins) but turns out that running less than stock gap on a high boost (12+psi daily) application leads to rings expanding and ------- up ringlands. oops. So today one of my pistons finally let loose. And to top it all off my turbo finally took a ---- on me. about damn time; that little greddy td04 hunk of ---- was long overdue for a permanent nap

Now i am without a car and in need of payday's to be sooner. anyone have a spare d15/d16 long/short block they'll sell me for cheap so i can get back up and running n/a for a while.

hahaha funny you say that; when i bought the car it had a blown HG; we replaced it; it blew in 3 days (dont reuse head bolts on a boosted engine); bought some arp studs a new gasket and ran that for probably 2500mi until i noticed the fuct ringlands :-/

the headgasket thing was my first major engine project at so it took me a few trys to get it done right. now i can pull a head in 30minutes because of the learning experience. 1st engine swap took almost a week. 2nd took one whole day(8hours), working by myself.

Runs awesome...Good backup engine...
