We pulled apart his motor (BTW this is the guy w/ the green Del Sol in the drag meet pics, and julio's install pics) because it stopped running on the freeway. We figured it spun a bearing (by the sound of it). it did, and I think a cam locked up and broke the timing belt in half, there is major scoring on the cam journal/cap that would point in that direction. I'm wondering what order it went in. the crank looks ok, but I figure we'll micro-polish it anyway.

what do you guys think about the head? salveagable? how?

 

Is he still asleep? lol. (every pic of every meet he's sleeping) When he's not sleeping, he's looking like he's just about to sleep. Its crazy.

the first time I redid my head after over heating it I forgot to lube up the cam, it's a little scratched but it still works.

 

this one is pretty marred up, the scratches are noticeable to the touch.

the bearing and cam were more than like caused by oil starvation, i'd say that oil pump took a ---- on him :P

 

my head did the exact same thing what happend to me wat the oil squiters that go over the cam when i bolted them down the dowles werent ligned up right and they crushed and sisit lign up flush so no oil got through the squiters so the entire cam ran dry for the entire summer lucally i cought it before it broke. 640$ problem fixed with a new head
