My 96 civic has 400,000+ miles on it right now and i started getting the 2nd and 3rd syncro grind in the higher rpm shifts. changed out the fluid tonight with GM Syncromesh: Fiction Modified and after about an hour the grinds have gone away completely. ---- for $12 a bottle cheaper than another tranny, i give it 4 thumbs up.

GM SYNCROMESH TRANSMISSION FLUID is a semi-synthetic lubricant for use in 1500 transmissions. It is highly friction modified to reduce transmission component wear.

I heard that ---- wears down your transmission faster than honda MTF and grinds come back after a while.

 

Becuase Honda trannys werent ment to use that type of fluid in the case.

 

it is a temporary fix, it is just to get afew more miles out of the tranny (10-20k) before you have to replace it.
