I picked up an obd 1 B18B swap for my EK being obd 2 i have a few questions. Im going to get a conversion harness to run the obd 1 ecu so that side is taken care of. But what im unsure of is if i get an obd 2 distributor, alternator, and injectors everything will be plug and play. Does it matter if i use obd 2 components on the engine even though the ecu will be obd 1. Any chance my D16Y8 dizzy would work on the B18B? Also would the D16Y8 harness plug into the B18B sensors?

 

Always use the cars original engine harness. Yes will plug in. Use obd-2 compenets and adapter harness w/ obd1 ecu

 

Awesome! I ordered a new dizzy. Is there any way i can either use the B18B or the D16Y8 alternator? Can i also just use the obd 1 injectors and just solder those clips to my harness? Thank you so much!

 

Yes you can use the obd-1 inj and solder the new clips. You can re pin the obd-2 dist w/ obd-1 wiring and it will work fine
