Im interested in buying this turbo from a member on here and even came across a cheap manifold. The buyer doesnt know what brand it is but I think he just doesnt want to say its an SS autochrome manifold

The manifolds work pretty good right but just need to be braced, is it that hard to brace them?

And will it work with this turbo.

that there be a ssauto manny, your better off going with a bmc manifold

 

100% positive that is an SSauto manifold.

The wastegate depends on what exhaust flange you buy. You can use internal or external. Good luck with your charge pipes if you're using that manifold with an external wastegate.

 

that`s def.ly a SS manifold. how do i know? because i had one. :P
that turbo is internal gated, not if you use somethinh kto block off that hole and go external . should work with the manifold.

according to the pic it is already braced. but i would use another piece to support the manifold from the bottom. ( with the other end bolted to the bracket next to the oil pan)


BTW tell him IT IS OK to say that it is a SS coz everyone knows already :P

 

That turbo is internaly wastegated, you just dont have the swing. You can block off the little hole and it will be externaly reg' ed

 

As you can tell Im new. But on internally gated turbos, you just block off the hoel and voila you have external wastegate?

Will these 2 piece bolt together?

How much do the manifolds go for new? used?

This one is used for 2000 miles

those manifold are like 150 brandnew over ebay.
i sold mine for 70 bucks b4 (new and lapped)

as of the turbo, you need to find a downpipe flange, that could block that hole off. THEN BUY a extrenal WG
the external WG will go to the little thing sticks out of the manifold.

What I meant about them bolting together is simply that. There are different bolt patterns and everything right? Will these go together...

Also for the intercooler pipes, why would it be difficult?

Im getting a 24 X 12 X 3 custom intercooler from a shop who owes me some money for free if I choose to.

Edit: Ya Iknow once the internal gate is plugged the external mounts on the manifold, I can get a tial 38mm for fairly cheap form Honda-Tech

 

What flange does the mani have there is more than one. You need a t-3 flang. That mani WILL BREAK for sure. If you dont own it yet dont, there are much better.
