i have the turbo on and when i start to go the boost guage goes from vacuum to 0, but it never goes above that, i think its a leak but i cant seem to find out where its coming from could there be something wrong with the turbo or wastegate? please help

 

could be a big leak, also the bearings in the turbo could be whooped.

if you have a compressor(with regulator) try this. just turn the compressor to 10psi. and put a male quickchange fitting onto the charge pipe. like drill a hole and put it in. then compress the whole system, then just go around with soapy water and brush it on the joints..

 

are you seeing any smoke?

You sure that wastegate isnt locked down to 0psi or something?

 

are you using a filter? i used a piece of rag for temporary use and it never boosted 'till i took it off!

 

My car was doing this too. So I adjusted the wastegate acculator rod and it is now boosting 5 psi.
Maybe that is what you can try.

 

man i havein the same problem. this sucks ***. homemade turbos are much harder than what i thoght/

 

the best way isn't always the easiest but it will be worth it

 

i sure hope so, all my so called friends are talking ---- because my setup didtn boost. ill get em... this weekend ill be workingonit again.
