question about different turbo

hey guys i came upon a turbo off of a Mercedes benz 240D and i was wondering if it would work on any gasoline powered car..it has no shaft play what so ever and has just been rebuilt

if you get the right adapter plates and it fits. if it's big it will have hella turbo lag.
