odb0 LS ecu & HF Motor ?????
alright....i got an LS swap for my HF crx...well i havent swapped ---- yet...but i got curious bout my LS ecu...its the pr4 ecu out of a 91 integera ls & its odb0 just like my car...well...i unplugged the HF ecu and put in the LS ecu and the thing felt like it had a tad bit more power and it ran great....and i noticed that when i would shift my rpms would hold at whatever i released them at til i popped it into the next gear. the only thing i didnt like bout it is it would idle at 1900 rpms after i gave that baby a test run....i let it sit for 5 minutes and it was still at 1900 rpms...im guessing 1900 is for the LS motor i have...but 1900 idling is high for an HF. When i had my old HF ecu in there it felt crappy when driving it like power sucked and the rpms would drop when i shifted unlike the LS held the rpms.....anyone ever try this before
give me some ideas or things to beware about...like how about fuel and timing issues or anything at all ??
thanks
lewis

I tried the same thing with the LS PR4 ecu in my zc civic.
The cars cold idle was low and the warm idle was high, very odd... but there was definately more oumph outta it. The rpms didn't drop between shifts either...
Get this though; The ecu threw a CEL, so i went ahead and read the blinking code out and it showed me a #43, "fuel supply system". Here's the weird part... OBD-0 ecus don't have a code 43...its only on OBD-1+ ecus...at least that's what I get outta the Chilton's (gay) manual...so i'm thinking that LS ecu's might be OBD-1 with OBD-0 plugs...or I might not know what the ---- i'm talkin' 'bout... :P

1900 idle.. that's a BAD thing.. I'm betting it has to do with your idle air controller and the value being sent back to the ECU. That is why your RPMs stay where they are... It's cool for racing I guess, but street driving sucks.
Anyway.. I'm sure that's why your RPMs are all jack..

yup....i felt the noticable power gain...it wasnt a whopping amount of power...but it was noticable....i took the ls ecu out with me and plugged it up before i raced...i raced an automatic dodge neon....well i raced this guy 3 weeks ago with my stock ecu..and he beat me by 2 car lengths...well last night with the ls ecu...i beat him by 1 car length and we raced 3 times and i still beat him by 1 car each time....crazy isnt it...i would recommend this to the ppl running stock si/hf motors....but only when racing and then put ur stock ecu back on for everyday driving...
you think its cool to keep using this ecu when racing only ?? i dont want to jack up this hf motor cause i dont have the money to install my ls motor yet...will it hurt anything

when u were talking about odb0 ls ecu's throwing odb1 codes....well 90-91 is odb0 and 92-93 ls is odb1....and they both run the same programming....only certain little things are different, nothing major.
