Default what sport tires to buy?

ok, right now I have Kuhmo Supra tires 205/40-17, they came with my rims, so I don't have anything to compare them with. I would like something that I can take to the track and hook up pretty good, but most of my driving is around town. I'm not rich, so I cant afford $200 a tire, but what are you guys suggest and what do you not suggest. thanks

Falken Azenis? I've heard they aren't very good for drag though.

17's arent good period... there is no flex in the sidewall, you would be better off going with 15's

Azenis are great tires, but he's right for drag they more or less bite, the side walls are pretty stiff. I'd probably go for some falken ziex 512's. Or even the 502's. They are pretty cheap, and I hear they have a long lifeline. I have aset of the 512's on my mom's beater car, and it's still holding great. My brother has the 502's and he loves them, they grip pretty good in turns too. I have some potenza performance tires, forgot which ones, and they don't grip as much as I would like, maybe I need some wider ones in back

azenis aren't the greatest for drag, but are great road tires. I wouldn't but drag radials on some steelies, but I would put them on some si/gsr/ls/hx rims or better yet get some slicks for some vx rims.

I gotta somewhat agree on cheap eBay tires, these don't look too bad http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...919312418&rd=1 But for that price after shipping I'd rather get some Falkens What's your max price you willing to pay after shipping?

^^^ correction, azenis are good STREET tires, they get oily when you drive hard on them for extended periods of time.

i am using Azenis 15s
on my very first drag race i ran them at like 15 psi with my boost set at 15 psi and it start spinning when i hit vtec at 1st gear then all the way till 4th gear. :P

but they are some reall good street tires. but NOT too predictable.
