external WG question
Hey,
As you can see, this is only my second post, so you know this question is coming from a noob right away. I just got a Tial 38mm external wastegate. It has two small vaccuum holes in it, one on top and one on the side. If i'm not running a boost controller, what are the holes for and what do i hook them up to? Also, everyone cross their fingers for me. I'm located in Saint Augustine, Florida, right on the beach, and we're getting NAILED with this friggen hurricane right now. Thanks.
Devin

Wow, Good luck with that hurricane devin, we have friends that are down there right now. Becarful and hope you dont get to much ---- destroyed
Now to answer your question. The top port, just simply take that fitting off all the way. You dont use it, the only time you do is when you have some type of electronic boost controler. Right now it is used to vent, so you will use the port on the side of the wastegate for it to open. I also suggest in using a source from your intake manifold rather the compressor housing. But either one will work.

so let me understand this, in order for the wastegate to open, you need to connect the side port to a port on the intake manifold using a vaccuum line? Also, i read that the b18a stock intake manifolds have ports on them for connecting vaccuum lines as you please, is this the case with the b18b's or do i need a T fitting?
