looking for a place to get 29c256 or 27c256 chips from.. i had one 29c256 but i think i ruined it by putting it in the socket forward and not jumping it correctly.. any idea where has the best prices on these? thanks!

If your burner supports the SST27SF256 FLASH chips, you can order those for $2.50 each from PGMFI. Reg 27C256 for $1.50... (I know our 27C256 prices suck )

Never heard of those. Are they similar to the 29c?

yeah, i am curious if they are erable/reprogrammable by the chip burner and not need a light.. i am using a willem burner and i believe they are supported. with the 29c256 i have to run a jumper wire which is pretty annoying..

i think i may have ruined my 29c256, when i first inserted it i had it closest the zif socket lever and not to the back.. does this normally ruin the chips? with the wire and dip switches set correctly i get a error: write sector 0 error.
