i got my hand on a y8 ecu n use it on my y7 car i also use the y8 manifold everything is ok but my car cut off at 5000rpm.... do i need to use the y8 distrb. to make it run right?help....

sounds like a rev limit cuz it's missing certain sensors.. your CEL is on right?

 

yea i got just the vtec code tho....

 

also fr my understanding the distrib. is wut control the rex. limiter rite? but im not sure im new to this honda world

 

Yes a person bought a Y7 ecu from me, and tried to use it with his harness, and it runs bad, but the Y8 ecu had a rev limit when about vtec kicks in.

what car do you have it in? an ek?

 

your IACV is wired wrong for a y8 ecu if your using a y7 tb.

 

i had the same problem before i used a gsr ecu on my dx. it will stop at 5 grand. what i did to get rid of this is bought a fuel pressure regualtor and cranked up the psi and then it worked fine for me hope its that easy for u.
