originally my plan was to go d16z6 custom turbo, in my
93 dx,
but I'm starting to think that it might be a good idea to setup a cheap custom turbo setup on my current motor.
That way i'll learn about setting up a turbo, and if I blow the motor it wont matter much, cuz I was gonna replace it anyways(how much could I sell a dx for anyways?)

Are they any of you guys out there with a similar setup?
I'll probly try to go for 6psi, intercooled, on an FMU and maybe fuel pump.

Do you think this setup would be fun at all?
I get alittle fun out of my stock dx, so I'm not one of those "must have 300hp or nothin" guys.

Are the internals prettymuch the same on a dx compared to a d16z6? or is the z6 tougher?

d series rods are all pretty much the same strength. you shouldnt have problems, run a fmu and a fuel pump for 6 psi

 

ok, cool.
so another question, what benifit do you think there is to going d16z6? aside from the extra 23hp?
will that extra 23hp grow exponentially with boost?

do you think the dx setup would get into the 14's?

This is what you do.. boost the ---- out of your dx until you hit 14's then replace it with a Z6..

thats probly a good plan,

but you dont think it'd be a good idea to save that dx engine? so I could sell it or something?
