I just got a b18 block and the dude threw in the rods and pistons but he said that they are no good but they look in good shape to me also he said that the motor spun a bearing so would the rods be fucked I inspected them and they look to be in good shape should I use the rods and psitons or not I am definitely not using the crank? any info

 

Well I have a set of Good LS rods and pistons for $50 shipped if you want them, that will solve ur problem

 

take em to a machine shop, have em mesaured, see if they are still within spec. if not, toss em

 

yeah you need to measure them. Maybe the guy meant it spun a crank bearing instead...

 

Nope it definetly spun a rod bearing, one of the bearings was all messed up, like looked scratched really bad, and i can take a pic of the crank if you need it. let me know Robbie

EDIT: Its possible that the rods are still good, you would have to replace the bearings, but if your going to put it together, i would just get better rods, and pistons, Really save some money in the long run, and have a very nice built block!!! that looks beast!

I think the motor had like 130,000 miles on it, and the person that had it never maintained the car.

 

the crank is fucked im sure.

dont put old pistons in your motor, they will always be fucked up
