ummm... there is a green stamp on it that says: 89.8.24

for 1. 90-91 are chippable. 88-89 aren't (or aren't as easy to chip).

90-91 also have a built in ELD I believe.

Agreed. And isn't 80shipped a bit much? I usually see them sold for like 60shipped, and thats for the 90-91 easily chipped ecus.

 

Those usally sell on ebay for about 25.00. If it was one year newer,you could ask more

 

Take the top cover off and see if it has the external 27x256 chip in the upper right corner. $80 is way too much. I get chippable PM6's for $20-40 all the time. If it were already chipped with a ZIF socket, I can MAYBE see it getting $80.. If someone were desperate enough, you might get it, but I know of at least 5-6 chippable PM6's for sale that are half that price. Some people might not bother looking around though..

 

Isnt that the external rom in the right corner? Just cut that out and add a socket to chip it right? Thats not hard...

I'd recommend desoldering it, but yes, that's the basic premise.

It certainly helps to have the right equipment but no, it's not hard.

OBO is always a good catchall..

I might chip it before hand, i've got the equipment. Mabye it will speed up the sale (cause I need the $$)
