Hello, Ive been looking everywhere and can't seem to find a turbo for my car which is a 1990 ford mustang lx (4 cyl) I need a turbo kit that will fit my car. do you want to turbo your mustang or get a OEM one...
mustand made a 4cyl turbo. its a 2.3 ltr. it can be found in cougars, mekurs, and thunderbirds. they are hard to find, maybe check your local junkyards. where Im at, there is 1, 2.3ltr turbo 4cyl in a merkur out of about 15 yards.
they were not intercooled. boosted ok. Im not sure exactly of the size of the turbo....? so what are you wanting to do

I want a good turbo that will give me a good amount of horse power. I really know nothing about turbos names, etc. So I wouldn't know the first thing to tell you. Thats why I want to buy the whole kid and have my mechanic install it. Thanks

 

they used a 60 trim t3. the thunderbird turbo coupes run like 15 psi and they actually dont run to bad.

I did the search for you and you can get one SUPER CHEAP!
call these people and ask if you can get the entire set-up, the mani and the turbo, then its just an intercooler, and piping...

I know i must be a big pain and I am sorry, but I searched and couldnt find any turbos for my car. I even clicked on the link below your post and that didnt come up either. So any other help would be very appreciated. Thank You alot

go to www.car-part.com and search year:1984 model:ford mustang. part: supercharger/turbo charger. then go to the next page and search alike parts(or its staed something like that) and search years 1984-2000. it will pull up. its a 2.3 ltr turbo. it came in cougars, thunderbirds, mustang SVO and the merkur. I had a murkur (for about 5 days) and it boosted good to about 15psi, as was stated earlier. its a good turbo kit. for the $500 it would cost you, you will smoke the ---- out of the V8 boys.

just call those people, and tell them you want the entire turbo kit, the turbo and the mani, and if there is an intercooler, send that to. (shouldnt be an intercooler but maybe) and tell them you want everything. if the injectors are bigger you want those also. also you might want the ECU

(unless your car is carborataed) --then you tune it accordingly. but you still want the exhaust mani and the turbo, then you just have someone make you some charge pipes, and maybe throw in a cheap volvo, or any other kind of intercooler. you have a cheap project on your hands.
