with most tuning systems you need a laptop, I was wondering which ones you guys reccomend. I was on ebay and they have alot, but I don't know what to look for, I want a cheap one with just enough to run a tuning system and write papers and stuff.

 

In the same boat here. A 300mhz system should do fine. I'm looking into the Panasonic ToughBooks.

 

even a 166 on win 98 would work..

 

i would def recommend a Gateway or dell due to their dependability, but gateway for their cheaper price. Reformat the drive once u get it and upgrade it to XP. the only reason is cause XP does not crash as much as the W98 or even lock up as much. Had bad experiences with W95, W98 and also ME, but with my new dell 3500 (a year old) and with P4 XP, i am very satisfied, besides the need for RAM.

i got a laptop its a 486 but i left it in my car and it killed the battery (and yes i did use it for tuning)...
