hey i got a question.....i went and bought another crx yesterday and its an HF model...(bought it for 300 bucks)....i leave it in neutral...and i hear a chatter sound...and when i push in the clutch....(still in neutral)....it stops..then i let off the clutch and it starts up again.....what could this be ....im gonna use this rex as my everyday car and make my other rex for the LS swap but what could it be ??...the clutch doesnt slip when i drive....it just makes a chatter sound

 

Does it 'shake' the car?

You will probably need a new clutch.

 

either the throw out bearing is fucked... or your pressure plate teeth are bent...... its still drivable... but it will only get worse......just get a new clutch....

 

Wouldn't the throw out bearing make noise if the clutch pedal was pressed down so then the throw bearing would be in use?
Sounds similar to my symptoms. It ended up being a popped spring grabbing the flywheel bolts.

 

Sounds like a front input bearing...

 

it is not the throw out bearing becouse i had the same problem i took the ranny out and looked around i found that it was the main bearing in the tranny it's self,.

the car doesnt shake....its like this...i start the car....i hear a chatter noise...a press the clutch...the chatter goes away and i let off the clutch again and i hear chatter...sometimes when i rev it up to 4 grand (big rpm's to an hf motor) u can hear the chatter in 1st gear but as soon is it goes into second gear its gone...strange but i think its a bearing or some ----....im thinking bout going to the junkyard and seeing if i can get another HF tranny or just put a whole DX or SI setup in there cause im not trying to make it fast just an everyday driver.
