Default need help!!

I just blew my engine in my 97 gsx and i need some help on finding a new engine. I've looked every where and i could only find engines with over 100,000 miles. The guy I brought it to is trying to rip me off buy charging $6,600 for a new engine (no tranny) i think im going to swap it myself to save money so any help will be appricated. Also are there any good swaps for a gsx?? Will a 1gen bolt up?
Thanks

Any japanese importer can get you a 6 bolt 4g63 for bout 1500. Better than the engine you had in the first place.

agreed, go for the 1g motors.. much more stable (no crankwalk either). sometimes I've heard of a slight "stumble" when the car first turns on, since the 2g computer is not expecting that 1g motor. I have learned that every DSM car is different, makes trouble shooting somewhat challanging.. every ecu acts different.

Hit up the dsm websites for help, like dsmtuners.com (i think that's it). This site is mostly honda based, but supports all motors. I myself like DSM cars, my brother has a '97 gst. I like T25 turbos also. I like green eggs and ham as well.
