maintenance required? 96' civic

on my dad's 96 civic there is that green/red square on the speedo gauge that changes colour....what is the "maintenance" that it wants

rocket fuel is low

.....thats just the oil change ----, push a key into the slot in the cluster and whammo, the light magically turns green

who cares it doesnt do anything...that said, i think its every 7500 miles or some ----
