ZC Tranny on a Single cam?
I believe that the cable zc tranny's will bolt up to your y8, but I'm confused with the axles and int shaft with them. I maybe wrong, but I think the dohc zc's you will need the int shafts and get some other axles (i think teggys) and the sohc zc trannys maybe a complete bolt up. Not too sure about my info, stopped looking into zc trannys a long time ago (stuck on 89-91 dx and si trannys
).
Well there is also the other route you could take and just swap the internals out of the zc and drop it into the tanny you got. And while you at it might as well put a Si 5th in there. I think that's the gear that makes the zc better. I could be wrong, like I said, I stopped looking at zc trannys a while ago (like 2 years ago, so all this is what's left of the knowledge I tried to learn 2 years ago)
Hope this helps, probably didn't, but this might, I might be able to snag either a 89+ dx or si. But not exactly sure yet.
And I just remembered, you sold your hf swap, so you really have no tranny to swap internals on. Oh well I guess I just provided useless information for the most part. I hoped you enjoyed it :P

You can use it, you need 90-93 teg axles and have to remove the dust shield inside the hub. Some sohc blocks came with the hole for the intermediate shaft but some didn't, if yours didn't you'll have to drill and tap.
Will it bolt up... Yes. Should you use it... No. Find an Si tranny... if u use a zc, u gotta get the zc axles + int. shaft. also... I don't think the Y8 Block has the holes on it for the int. shaft to mount to (like the z6 and a6). Trust me... find an Si...
