Default Rotating turbo?

Can you rotate a turbo? What i mean my stock 14b sits in a dumb postion so the outlet pipe is pointed upwards, id like it to point to the front of the car so that i could route my intercooler pipes.

So basically i wanna loosen the clamp holding the turbo and housing.

yes its possible. and very easy. just loosen the bolts on it and it should come loose. then rotate to however you want it positioned and tighten the bolts backup

It won't affect anything. Everything is symetrical inside the housing. The turbine housing and the compressor housing can be clocked any way without changing anything. At least that's the case on the majority of turbos and on every single one I've dealt with so far. There might be a few that are goofy and have to be pointed a certain way for one reason or another, but those aren't jy turbos so don't worry about it.

If you cant turn it someone suggested using a blow torch to slowly heat up the compressor housing to loosen it up.

I opted to just use a hammer covered with a bunch of cloth and slowly tapped around the edges until it came loose and then clocked it. I'm sure a mallet would work as well.

Hope this helps
