Default vtec ? for a d series

I got the msd rpm switch and my vtec kicks in @ 5000rpm, but i wanted to set it @ 4500rpms. Would any damage happen to my engine?

i wouldnt go lower than 4500rpms, you need to have a sufficient amount of oil pressure built up in order for vtec to work properly. using those rpms switches allows a person to activate vtec even in nuetral and thats bad for the valve train. so 4500rpms and make sure your car is under load. :P

Yeah, no "VTECing" in neutral.

Plus it gains you nothing. From what I have seen, you lose power by setting VTEC that low.

We should start a new "lingo" for vtec so all the noobs and ricers out there start using it
we will call vtec= "The chicken"
Used in a snetance.
Then my "Chicken kicked in, and i was gone, i hit about 90mph , alot faster sense i put the "chicken" in my car
haha
