today was a good day......pics! of my new 'toys'..

well this morning i woke up and thought it was worth a shot to see if there was a turbo at the junkyard:
60/63 T3 from a 84 Cougar XR7 2.3L....
Lincoln '3500HD Weld-Pak' or some ----....basicly a 135amp gas ready MIG and a little gay lookin cart... also got some welding gloves, better mask, and an angle grinder while i was there...if your woundering...yes i have been welding for MANY years

yes i know...should have bought a desent camera too...anyway so thats my first weld
....it is pretty strong though, i hit it wiht the hammer a couple times and it didnt break.another one, was just ------ around trying to get the hang of using the welder...
anyway so im all happy and ----, just thought i would share
how much did that set you back? i am a complete noob when it comes to welders, i wanna learn through trial and error on how to make my own manifold so what would be the most economical welder and how much will it set me back?
well the turbo was...'not too expensive' (i will leave it at that) and the welder was $437 + 30 for helmet + 9 for gloves...being able to say i did it myself: priceless :P
sweet man, i've got a 110, but i want to get at least a 135 so i can weld some decent manifolds, i'm about to take a class at the community college too to learn some skilz. i don't see much room for improvement on your welds
btw, i bet that .x/.x turbo spools up nice :P
