Jeff: kia rio check engine light

Jeff,

I got a CEL on my 2001 kia rio, do rio have a nifty little jumper to get the error code like hondas? or Do I need to take it to Autozone or some other place to get the cel numbers?

why not just go to autozone really quick? they do it for free anyways!?!

Nope, gotta use a obdII scanner, any generic one will work..

My guess 0442 or 0445 Evap system.. either a leak or a malfunction. Unless you dont keep up on maintnence, its gonna be a misfire.

it gets its oil changed, and I swapped out the spark plugs about 4k or 5k. I going to do a tranmission fluid change soon.
